I'm pretty hesitant to buy 5-strings these days because the current market leaves very little room for me to buy and resell and make my work time worth it.
Often 1890s-1920s banjos are awesome but come with warped necks... needing frets replaced wholesale... hardware costs $$... and if no one wants to pay for it then I don't tend to buy. It's unfortunate but true.
I have been getting the itch, though, as I haven't worked on 5ers except for customer repairs for a while now!
