Workshop: Recording King Bridge Placement
So this ebony bridge was coming-up on a newer Recording King 000 12-fret guitar and when I went to reglue it I checked the bridge location and -- howdy-hey! -- they put the dang thing in the wrong place. Look how far back from its old glue spot it has to be to intonate correctly.
It's beyond Y2K... we should not be dealing with this anymore.
Since the fretboard is rosewood, I'm replacing the bridge with a Martin-style belly bridge that happens to line-up the saddle slot in the correct place while also having its leading-edge match the original bridge placement. The "belly" will also help it stay pat on the top, too.
