2008 Bourgeois Lefty Slope-D Dreadnought Guitar

This high-flight Bourgeois has a few tricks up its sleeve -- number one, it's a beaut and sounds it, too -- number two, it's short scale -- and number three, it's got an Adirondack top. How about them apples?

A customer/consignor sent this in for resale as he appears to be moving mostly to littler guitars. Even with my righty-confused playing, however, I can tell that this thing has got it. Its voice is an interesting mix of Gibson-ish mids and velvety, almost D-28-like trebles and definition. Workmanship is top-notch and free of flaws. The only signs of its 10-year-old lifespan are three little dings on the top, lower-bout area. Otherwise it looks "as new."

Specs are: 25" scale, 1 3/4" nut width, 1 1/2" string spacing at the nut, 2 1/4" spacing at the bridge, 16 3/8" lower bout, 11 1/2" upper bout, and 4 7/8" side depth at the endblock. The neck has a ~14" radius to the board and a slim, quick D-shaped rear profile. The neck is straight, the truss works as intended, and action is spot-on at 3/32" EA and 1/16" DGBE at the 12th fret.

Woods are: solid throughout with Adirondack spruce top, mahogany back and sides, a mahogany neck, and ebony fretboard and bridge. The nut and saddle are bone.

There's a Fishman (Infinity Matrix?) undersaddle pickup installed in the guitar, too, with vol/tone controls at the soundhole and a battery bag at the neckblock.

The ivoroid-buttoned Waverly pegs look smart on that "snakehead" headstock. I'm pretty sure the string gauges on this are around 54w, 42w, 32w, 24w, 16, 12 or similar.

I love the sculpt of the bridge. It's very classy.
