1965 Fender Jazzmaster Electric Guitar

Here's a friend's 1965 Jazzmaster -- all stock save a Buzzstop added to the whammy and replacement, jumbo-sized frets. It sounds delicious and plays like a dream. It was only here to investigate a slipping high E-string issue (a tiny slice of education solved that'n) and then I got the pleasure of sitting and enjoying it for a bit.

There's a reason these guitars have skyrocketed in the vintage market -- and it's not just the cool factor of indie-rock saviors slinging them everywhere. These are wide-sounding, very adaptable guitars that have gobs of Fender clarity as well.

I have to say, though, that I'm a full supporter of the owner swapping to bigger frets on this guitar. The original, thin frets can be fine -- but big ones feel so good on the steep radius of these old necks and give them a more modern playing dynamic.
