2011 Boulder Creek Solitaire ECR2-V Acoustic/Electric Dreadnought Guitar

A customer of mine dropped some modern guitars by for consignment and this is one of them. He was using this regularly for gigs and while it's otherwise very clean, it does have a bit of buckle-wear to the back of it.

These are definitely marketed towards a loud-band, rock-ready format and come complete with no top soundhole to defeat feedback and a battery-powered preamp cut in the side with an undersaddle pickup installed at the bridge. There are aluminum rods running the length of the body inside, too, which couple with the bridge and allow for lighter bracing. They also keep the guitar absurdly-stable. I usually expect a newer guitar to get a tiny ski-jump issue at the fretboard extension as they settle in the first decade of life, but this one was rock solid.

Acoustically this sounds good, clean, and has a clear tone -- but it's not going to beat-up a D-28 in perceived volume. The side-mounted soundhole works well, but in an odd twist it seems to sound a lot better out front than it does from the player's position. It plays great and has a fast, modern feel.

Repairs included: a setup, restring, and light string-ramping at the saddle to engage the pickup a little better with more downpressure.

Setup notes: action is bang-on 3/32" EA and 1/16" DGBE at the 12th fret, the neck is straight, the truss rod works, and strings are 54w-12 gauges.

Condition notes: clean with just a little buckle-wear on the back and very, very light usewear throughout. The saddle is on the low side but action has not budged for the two years I've had it here. I'd originally had it for sale on consignment but then it wound-up in use again for a while and finally it came back to me in trade for repairs I did on two other guitars. There's only the teeniest, tiniest amount of fretwear and so I didn't need to give it a level/dress -- it's only been lightly-played.
