Local Flavor: More Sunset, Frost House, Heron
How about that ridiculous sunset? That was earlier last week and it really did look like that. I rushed down to the river like a mad idiot to shoot it just as it was nearing its end, leapfrogging giant boulders and nearly breaking my leg (and pride) while skittering over roots. Worth it? Yessssss...
On Sunday we all went for a "town trip" to Middlebury and stopped at our usual haunt, the Robert Frost House on Route 125, on the way. It was a bit of a gloomy day but the rain held-off until a little later. The clouds were pretty spectacular, though. This is the view from the small apple orchard near Frost's cabin.
It's hard to see it in the photo, but this stone wall marches in a very straight line for quite a ways through the trees in this stand of wood. Next time I'll have to take the "wall path" back down to the car...
See what I mean about those clouds?
If you look carefully, you'll notice the blue heron (I think) at the lower-left portion of the falls. That was a nice extra!
Last and maybe least, above is another old song of mine.
