1900s Unmarked 4/4 German-made Violin

There are no markings on this instrument but I'm pretty sure it was made in Germany around 1895-1905. I'd set this up for its owner previously but this time it was back here for consignment -- he wants to go for a fiddle with more bite.

If you like sweet, sultry, and thick and warm in the mids, though? This is just about perfect. I love double-stop sounds on it and it handles nicely. It's also quite loud.

The tightly-grained top is carved thin and it has pretty, flamed-maple for the back, sides, and neck. The fittings are all ebony and it's in good order and ready to go. Current strings are John Pearse Mezzos which are basically Thomastik Dominants (as they're made by Thomastik).

Repairs included: fresh setup, previous minor adjustments, and (by someone else) seam and top-crack repairs.
