1983 Ibanez Roadstar II Short Scale Electric Bass Guitar

`

It's a P-style bass. It's short scale. It's got a P-style neck. It has cute "hooked" horns. It's simple. I like it.

This Fujigen-made (Japan) Ibanez Roadstar has some minor nicks and dings and playwear throughout but it's in good order and ready to go. I just did a bit of fresh work to it and it's playing fast and easy.

The body is actually some sort of composite material (sort-of like masonite?) with a wood-look "veneer" to the top and back. It's been played enough that the finish shows the line of the edge lamination of the veneer material around the top and back edges of the bass.

Sound-wise it's P-style in flavor but a little warmer and fatter and with a little less piano "zing." I think part of that is the black-coated roundwound strings, though, as they've been played-in a bit. It's a good thump bass and sounds ridiculously-good when played with a pick and hit with a lot of overdrive.

Repairs included: a fret level/dress, light cleaning, and setup.

Condition notes: there are numerous small nicks and dings and scratches on the edges of the bass (and a few one the front and back) that are obvious. The frets have been leveled/dressed but have a ton of life left in them. Overall it's in good shape, though. I'm presuming the pickups are original but the adjuster screws for their height are replacements. The neck adjusts correctly.

It comes with: a really nice, newish, hard case.
