1996 Martin 000-28EC Eric Clapton Artist Flattop Guitar

I've had a lot of Martin 000-28EC models through the shop but this is the earliest I've handled at '96 production. It's marked as #157 in the production run. Not bad, huh?

Aside from finish checking and a little mild playwear, it's nice and clean. There was a bit of playwear in first position and so I leveled/dressed the frets and set it all up and it's playing like a champ.

Tone is exactly what you'd expect -- full, warm, sweet, and clean with just a little "burr" to the voice in the upper-mids. That's what you want from a 000-28 and that's what you get. Build quality is high, it has a retro neck profile (soft V and wider nut), the Indian rosewood back and sides are pretty, and it's got the herringbone binding. There's a reason these are popular with players.

Repairs included: a light fret level/dress and setup work.

In the pics there's a small nick to the back of the headstock and that's the worst of it.
