2004 Fender Japan TL-52 BIG Bigsby-Tailed Telecaster Electric Guitar

Swamp ash? Yep. Bigsby? Yup. Maple neck? Yep! Blackguard? Yup. Big old '50s V-neck? Yep. Heel-adjustable truss rod? Yes. So, it's Telecaster to the hilt!

This a Japanese-made Fender and it's basically a '50s reissue-style model but with a '60s style Fender "F" whammy and bridge plate installed. This has its original neck pickup (basically a Texas Tele pickup) but is fit with a DiMarzio Twang King bridge pickup with flat poles instead.

Sound is... classic Tele! Feel is... classic Tele! Fit and finish is first-rate, it's comfy in the lap, and the neck feels generously vintage. I lubed the Bigsby and someone else before me lightly-surrounded the bridge posts on the Jazzmaster-style whammy to keep them from traveling as much... which is how I like them, too. Suffice to say, it's staying in tune with use and after a setup the guitar's playing fast and slick.
