1961 Gibson ES-125TD Hollowbody Electric Tenor Guitar

This fella is an ES-125TD (thinline, double-pickup) with a tenor neck. I suppose that makes it an ES-125TDT, though? It's a really rare instrument as I haven't seen another from the time quite like this except for this one on other websites. It's missing a truss rod cover and has a cruddy old neck repair and some dings and bumps and scrapes, but is mostly in good order despite all that. It did need a level/dress of the frets and minor alteration to the bridge to get it playing bang-on, though.

The original pickup riser for the bridge was slightly too tall so I made a second, thinner one. Still, we needed to shim it just slightly up as it was hard to gauge string height while everything else was wonky on the guitar setup-wise when it arrived.

Neat original features include pickup covers with pearl dots replacing the 1st and 6th polepieces (usually these just use 4-hole covers but these dots appear to be original) and a custom-spaced pickguard.

This one isn't for sale (at least for the moment) -- it's just a customer repair job. And how's it sound? Great, of course! It's hard to beat old P90s in a hollowbody. The thin depth makes it cozy as heck to play on a couch, too.
