1963 Harmony H1215 Rubber-Bridge Electrified Archtop Guitar

This started-out as a fairly run-of-the-mill, all-solid-birch, thwacky-sounding Harmony archtop. It's dated inside as a '63 but the neck is slimmer and faster than usual for the time -- mostly these have big old honking C/V necks but this one's closer to a '50s Gibson cut. I like it!

As it was a bit beat-up, I figured it would be fun to modify it, so it got rubber-bridge treatment by way of an alternate (adjustable) bridge, simple wiring harness (volume and jack), and parts-bin Epiphone humbucker. I'm not an "uncovered bucker" guy but I think the funky look suits this one.

Other repairs included seam separation fixes, a level/dress of the frets, side dots fit, and a neck reset. It had some wonky repairs done in the past (mismatched seams), but it's currently good to go and all patched-up.

To hear one of these "as it should be," take a listen to an unmodified H1215 here.

Above: this guitar is convertible! I reworked its original bridge to serve for "non-rubber" purposes. It's stowed in the guitar's case pocket.
