1976 Fender Starcaster Semihollow Electric Guitar

Starcaster! For some, these are reprehensible '70s beasts. For others, like me, these are stupidly-cool rock monsters. It's hard to beat true Wide Range humbuckers for both clean, clear, wide-sounding snap and also sizzly, krrr-unchy dirt. When you mix that with a cozy Fender neck on a semihollow, offset body, you've got far too many cool factors to handle.

Other than that, there's not much else to say -- the guitar sells itself very well. The beveled-edge headstock with its swatch of matching color is a nice touch... the binding pops nicely against the black body... the raised-baseplate hardtail bridge is completely '70s and a very Fender solution vs. the Coronado tailpiece/floating setup... it's got classy curves. What's not to like?

Repairs included: a fret level/dress, cleaning, replacement saddle, adjustments, setup.

Condition notes: everything appears original save one or two of the saddles and the new bone nut my guy Ancel made (the one on it was slotted very poorly). We had to swap a bad replacement saddle (completely frozen/stripped adjusters) with a parts-bin one that was approximately correct. It comes with several replacement knobs of the same type in the case, so I'm assuming perhaps one of the originals was missing. These knobs are all correct, however. The original pickguard is missing, though. There's minor wear and tear in the body by way of small scratches, nicks, dings, and minor buckle rash. The neck has some chipping to the clearcoat at the edges of the fretboard but it looks nice and feels great. There are a bunch of bumps and scratches to the edges at the top of the headstock. There's also the "reverse shadow" of a question mark sticker that was on the headstock's face at some point.

It comes with: an apparently original hard case (that looks like it had a Coronado stuffed into it for a while).
