2019 Fender Newporter 000-Size Cutaway Guitar

I want to say this is just another new, boring guitar -- but it's not. It was setup poorly when it arrived, but after getting it adjusted properly it's quite a nice box. It has a quick, comfortable neck, nice retro-futuristic styling with a cool metallic teal finish with a satin clearcoat, gypsy-jazzy cutaway style, retro-style gold pickguard, matching headstock color, and a good-sounding undersaddle pickup system installed from the factory. That's a lot of good at the ~$450 or so these command brand-new.

Per the usual for imports, the top is solid spruce while the back and sides are ply mahogany. The neck is stable, the tuners are reliable, and the look is good. It has almost nothing to do with the original Newporter model of the '60s (non-cutaway, mahogany top, bolted neck) but I think we can overlook that as this guitar apes the spirit of fun and enjoyment that the original Fender-made acoustics were selling themselves on in all their ad copy work.

All I had to do was give it a quick setup, fresh strings, and a new battery and it was ready to go.

Repairs included: a quick setup and light cleaning.
