1930s Czech-made Strad-copy 4/4 Violin
My friend Jim dropped this violin off eons ago. The poor guy has been waiting ages for it but I'm lucky enough to have my guy Andy working in the shop, now, and he's taken-over almost all of the violin-family repairs. He got this going quickly and did a good job on it, too. It's now a very functional and great-sounding old fiddle and it has a relaxed, friendly look to it, too.
It has the remains of a "made in Czechoslovakia" label in the bass-side f-hole and appears to be either a '20s or early '30s build. It's got good fittings, though the fingerboard is ebonized maple as you might expect for a typical "trade" fiddle from the time. It has a nice, clear, open sound to it and plays on the dot.
Repairs included: seam repairs, cleaning, fingerboard adjustment, bridge adjustments, restring, setup.

Condition notes: overall it's in good shape with only minor wear and tear throughout. There's a bit more wear right around the bridge feet. It has a full 4 fine tuners, however, and a neat vintage adjustable-feet bridge. The chinrest is a quirky old one but it does serve.
It comes with: an old hard case in beat-up shape.
