1970s Madeira A-12 Dreadnought 12-String Guitar
Madeira guitars like this (they were marketed by Guild but made in Japan) get hauled into the shop maybe two or three times a year. They're almost always dreadnoughts of some sort and are always down on their luck repair-wise for one reason or another and can often be too much work to trouble with bringing back from the dead. They don't have much value (as they're all-ply, import boxes and don't have the cool factor of an old Yamaha) but they do look fun and sound about as decent as an old '70s Epiphone when done-up.
This one was a "fix as cheap as possible" job and so to repair a separated heel/neck problem (the vertical plane) it got glue and a couple of bolts. The bridge then got a shave, string ramps were cut, and I modified the original adjustable saddle slot so it would keep functioning decently. Said saddle is now fully-compensated, more or less, and the guitar actually plays spot-on at 1/16" overall at the 12th fret. Really skinny gauges have to be used, however, to keep a funk-machine like this happy. I also skipped leveling/dressing the frets to save on time, so they're not perfect either.
However, it works and works well for its owner, despite all that.
