1971 Suzuki 1/2 Strad-Copy Violin

A local customer asked if we could get a 1/4 size and 1/2 size fiddle done for some kids for the holidays. This is the 1/2 size and it's a Japan-made, Suzuki, Strad-copy fiddle that has the same solid, clean, good tone that I expect from most Suzuki instruments. They also have solid build quality.

Andy and I have been figuring-out how to "do up" student instruments to make them easy and practical as we're intending to start a student rental service sometime next year. To this end, aside from the usual setup-side work, we also fit this one with geared tuners (GraphTech uke pegs) at the headstock and a full fine-tuner tailpiece. This alteration both makes it easy to tune-up and also to keep it in tune. It's not the prettiest option but it's also not egregious-looking at a distance.
