1969 Guild F-20 0-Size Guitar

This is another one of those oddly-serialized, 1969/1970 transition Guilds from when the factory was being moved from Hoboken, NJ to Westerly, RI. This is a tail-end Hoboken guitar and it's built just like any of the other '60s F-20s from New Jersey that I've played, owned, sold, and fixed (in no order, necessarily). It has a good, chunky, woody sound that sits right in its own little pocket and has more carrying-power than I expect for this model. It sort-of leaps out when it's dug-into with a flatpick.

Fingerpicked, it also sounds sweet and pretty and balanced. It has a surprisngly-good low-end for a small guy. It's also got the cool, tiny pickguard and a slick, cherry-sunburst finish that recalls Gibson styling. Post-repairs it's playing spot-on and is ready to go.

Repairs included: a neck reset, fret level/dress, new bridge, new saddle, setup, etc.

Condition notes: post-reset the fretboard extension drops-off a bit sharply after the 17th fret, but hopefully you're not reaching for notes in that region in a typical acoustic day, anyhow. The bridge is a fresh, Martin-factory replacement an while not exactly the shape of the original, it's similar and a lot more stable. The original bridge was still on this guitar when it arrived but it had been shaved a lot and was way too thin. This bridge is perhaps a hair thick an I could sand it to "factory normal" Guild thickness if desired by the next owner, but it's nice as-is, too. It also happened to be the best color match compared to the original bridge from the bridges in our parts-bins. Anyhow, aside from the bridge, saddle, and pins, it appears original throughout otherwise. There's some weather-check to the finish throughout and there are definitely some nicks and dings here and there -- especially on the sides and edges. Still, it looks pretty good to me! There's a little finish muck-up along the fretboard extension eeges, too.

It comes with: sorry, no case.
