2020s Guitar Garage Carvin 1-SGB Replica Electric Guitar

This cool-as-heck copy of a 1950s Carvin S-1GB was, apparently, made by Guitar Garage out of Methuen, MA, in recent memory. It's a pretty dang faithful take on the original, though the body is made from cherry rather than maple. The neck is, of course, a more modern cut as the originals have ginormous D-shaped things that are not -- shall we say -- for everyone.

Post-work, this one plays quick and fast and has a bright, full, cutting, sound. The Curtis Novak reproduction AP-6 pickup that's installed on here sounds almost identical to the original AP-6 pickups. How do I know? ...because we have an original right in the shop to compare it to. It does the "thing" to a T.

Repairs included: a fret level/dress, relocation of bridge mounts for better intonation, and setup.

Great to see someone out there giving the old Carvin designs a go, they're fun looking, but I've never loved the narrow but deep neck profile. This'll be fun for the new owner. I particularly love those knobs, any idea where they're from?
