2023 Fender USA Limited Edition Thin Skin '62 Reissue Jazzmaster Electric Guitar
This one's an oddity -- a US-made '62 Reissue Jazzmaster (a model not really in full production at the moment) made for Dave's Guitar Shop and featuring a "thin skin" nitro finish in sonic blue with matching headstock paint. It has all '60s-style appointments except for the bridge which has Mustang-style saddles.
It's a great-feeling guitar -- quick and easy and responsive -- and it has a bright, chimey, clean sound that takes drive perfectly. The middle position, like on a lot of Jazzmasters, is where the money is for my ears -- though I do like having that upper circuit to knock it into "mellow neck positon" for jazz-comp sort-of riffs.
During setup we "block" the bridge posts by wrapping aluminum tape around the posts so it sits tight in its sockets like an ABR bridge might. This helps the vast majority of players keep in tune better with whammy use as the strings glide nicely over the Mustang saddles anyhow and the "free-floating" bridge is not generally necessary with today's thin gauges (this is also how Mastery bridges work). I can remove that or leave it as desired for the next owner.
The fella who owns this is only selling it because he's a Jazzmaster fiend and has just a wee bit too many of them. He's gotten so attached to the vintage '60s necks that even a pretty-dang-good repro version like on this guy is not his jam. His loss!

Condition notes: it's basically a new guitar. I had to take the shrink wrap off the pickguard! That said, someone (before it got here) popped the neck off and it got a little chip-out in the finish at the heel pocket (pictured) and they also over-tightened the bolts on the neck plate down and caused a little chip-out next to the neck plate mounts, too. Otherwise, it's brand-new. We did have to do some level/dress work where the neck meets the body to get it dialed-in and playing clean.
It comes with: its original hard case (G&G) and all the goodies -- bridge cover, paperwork, etc.
