2023 Squier Esquire Deluxe Electric Guitar
This one's part of the "Paranormal" Squier line which is their "let's twist a model and see what happens" batch of instruments. I really like the way this one turned-out -- it's like a Telecaster Deluxe version of an Esquire and is fit with a single Wide Range pickup but with a 3-way switch at the upper bout that lets you get a "single coil" voice in one position, a "non-bypassed regular" voice in another, and a "straight to jack" voice in the third.
Between these choices and a little tweaking of the knobs, you can get all sorts of great sounds. Not having magnetic pull at the neck position means it has that springy, Esquire-style feel to its play, too -- something I love about single-bridge-pickup guitars. They're just a hair more lively from my experience.
Let's also not forget the big old Strat-style headstock shape, the blue-sparkle finish (yesssss), and the decently-lightweight build overall at just under 7 lbs. I'm used to Squier Teles breaking 8 1/2 or so.
Jose did a good setup on it and it's ready to roll. I quite enjoyed doing the demo with this guy...
