2022 Fox Guitars Kalamazoo KG-11 00-Size Guitar
This oddball is a Fox Guitars release. It's an import instrument and apes the look of the old '30s Gibson Kalamazoo KG-11 models. It has some pretty different features, however, as compared to the originals.
It's x-braced vs. the ladder bracing of the originals, has a very short scale length that's only found in the first year of production KG-11s (sub-24"), the soundhole placement is a little off and the hole a littel small, the neck is quite different (it's a medium C vs. the old big hard V), and the shoulders are a little more rounded and less "pinched" at the curve into the waist.
That said, on its own and not in comparison to a '30s Gibson product, it's quite a nice little guitar. It's still 00-sized but the shorter scale, different bracing, and rounder shoulders give it a bit of a Taylor GS Mini presence. It's a comfortable, easy-to-enjoy guitar and perfect as a couch-strummer or take-anywhere buddy.
It's not fancy but it does look nice and it handles and sounds good and it's not expensive -- who's to argue? Jose just gave it a "glorified setup" to bring it all on-spec and playing spot-on and it's good to go.
Repairs included: a fret level/dress and setup work as well as a fresh set of bridge pins.
