1960s Gretsch 6125 Single Anniversary Hollowbody Electric Guitar

This worn-in beaut is a refinished Single Anniversary model. I forgot to check the serial number on the label, but I'm assuming it's early '60s. I'm assuming the Bigsby is not original to it but it's a nice choice and the traditional, all-aluminum, Bigsby-style adjustable bridge is pretty classy as well. I'm a huge proponent of aluminum bridges on electrics, though, mind you.

The pickup is a TV Jones HiLoTron-a-like and the wiring harness was completely replaced when it got here. This guitar needed both a level/dress of its frets and a proper setup and it also needed the wiring harness more-or-less replaced. The last guy to do it made some odd choices that were ameliorated via a higher-value pot (with treble bleed circuit) for the volume control, fresh Switchcraft jack, and better-value caps for the tone control 3-way. Unfortunately, a standard on/on/on 3-way was used in that position rather than an on/off/on so we'll have to "get back to that" to make it function perfectly down the road.

It had been refretted at some point but the job was a little wonky and so the level/dress job tamed the demons of playability concerns. It's now a slick player and is quick and easy in the hands.
