1990 Gibson L-4CES Archtop Electric Guitar

This is a customer's guitar that was in for a level/dress of the frets, some crack repair on the lower bout, and setup work. Unfortunately, the two cracks on the lower bout were directly over the tonebar bracing and so there was not much to do to reinforce them but the good news is that they're perfectly stable.

It had been played for a while, though, and so the level/dress job did help it out a lot in the playability department. It was nice to get such a worthy guitar all dolled-up and ready to pick on.

Per the usual for this model, it's dressed-up in fancy trim and has that "quintessential jazz guitar" look about it. The humbuckers are a little cleaner and more accurate-sounding than usual for a jazzbox and I find that to be a pretty faithful sound when you compare and contrast with, say, '60s buckers.
