1990s Samick Artist Series Tele-Style Electric Guitar (Modded w/Duncan P-Rails)

Tone: Gosh, what tone doesn't it have? This is a modded-out instrument and features Duncan P-Rails in both positions. Said pickups have micro-switches on the pickup ring that allow you to use each pickup as either rail or P90, and humbuckers in series or humbuckers in parallel. Between all of these options you can get sounds that run the gamut of classic rock vibes and everywhere else, too.

Feel: The neck is a typical, fast-feeling, '90-style thing. It's got a slimmer-profile front/rear depth and a 12" radius which is a little flatter than your typical Fender.

Interesting features: Visually, let's just admit it -- the flamed maple veneer on the the carved top is pretty slick stuff. Mixed with the gold hardware, it gives a look suitable to either the jazz club or power ballads -- you choose which adventure suits you! Aside from the plethora of tonal options right at the pickup, it has a straightforward 3-way switch and 2-volume, 1-tone wiring configuration. The story on this guitar is that it started as a vanilla, Korean-made, Samick Artist Series electric and Tommy Graves over at VT Guitarworks Hospital performed all of the mods to it -- new pickups, new wiring harness, I think also new frets, an elkhorn nut, the whole shebang -- and as a result, it's quite the player. Along the way the headstock logo was rubbed-out but it retains its original Samick neckplate.

Repairs included: All I did was give it a restring and minor setup adjustments. It's playing spot-on and ready to go.

Condition notes: It's in very good shape -- nice and clean with only light wear and tear here and there via small scratches/dulling to the finish around the knobs and whatnot and a little hardware tarnish here and there. It looks good! It's not all-original, but much of its vibe is. The pickups installed right now (along with the wiring harness) are a huge upgrade.

It comes with: It has a gigbag.
