2010s Samick ST6-1SN 3/4 Size Guitar

This is a basic, all-ply, 3/4-size, short-scale guitar intended for students or travel. It's much like the Yamaha JR1 but with, perhaps, a nicer body outline. After a quick setup it plays nicely and is ready for use.

The neck is slim and comfortable and it would make a good knockabout guitar for just about anyone. It has a bit of a "thunky" or "clunky" sound to it but part of that is just the extra-short-scale thing going on.

When I own guitars like these I like to string them up "Nashville" style and re-entrant -- using EADGBE tuning but with the EADG strings up an octave. This plays to the body's size and gives an alternate, chimey sound while also keeping fingering the same. It's a great tool for recording chordal backup.
