2017 Fender Partscaster Telecaster-Style Electric Guitar
Tone: This one is very old-fashioned in sound due to the twin StewMac Golden Age humbuckers fit to it. They're quite "PAF" in vibe -- warm, round, and a little smoky. Light drive to full-on drive is where these will be most at home unless you're a jazz-cat wanting clean and round -- which this does! The long scale gives them a bit more snap and sparkle than what you'd get if they were in a short-scale guitar but overall the palette is similar to a Les Paul with a bit more clarity.
Feel: It's pretty typical for a modern Fender Mexico product, with a medium-heft, C-shaped neck and flatter board radius. It's a quick feel.
Interesting features: This is a total partscaster guitar but does feature a 2017 Fender Mexico Telecaster neck. The humbuckers are nice-quality StewMac Golden Age units and the body is a Guitar Fetish one from their "premium" XGP line in alder. It has a curious, "desert sand" to "light peach" to "fleshtone" look about it. Is it ready for a camouflaged march in Death Valley? Is it aping '50s colors? Not sure! Does it play like a champ and have a great sounds? For sure!
Repairs included: It's had a fret level/dress, minor wiring repairs, string trees added back to the headstock, cleaning, and setup work. It's playing spot-on and ready to go. It came with only one knob so we replaced it and the empty pot top with two, good-quality, black metal knobs.

Condition notes: It's pretty clean overall but the finish on the body has darkened in various spot -- whether this is UV or some other interaction, I don't know! In the pictures you can see that it's darkened where the body meets the player -- at the treble waist/side/back area and the top/lower bass bout area. I think it gives it a bit more of a "lived-in" look, myself, and in a good way. The wiring rout cover is definitely homemade (and wood) but fits in with the rest of the aesthetic. Someone came up with a cool aesthetic when throwing this partser-special together but I'm glad the dialing-in was saved for here.
It comes with: Sorry, no case.
