1920s Pacheco & Klemm Resonator Tenor Banjo
This gorgeous, professional-grade tenor banjo probably dates to the mid-'20s and was made by Pacheco & Klemm, a small firm. It has some pretty dazzling furniture-trade inlay along the rim and resonator and, while the gold plating is a replate job, said job leaves the eyes starstruck -- it's quite the looker.
This one sounds and handles rather Lange-like but with a little bit more of an acute snap to its tone. It only needed a quick setup as someone had previously gone through it, refinished it, and refretted it at some point in the past. My guess is it was '70s work as that was generally the period of Great Banjo Rejuvenation among tenor players.
