1960s Mosrite Combo Semihollow Electric Guitar
Overview: As a big Mosrite fan, this Combo ticks lots of boxes for me -- it has the fast, Fendery neck profile, an eye-catching design with high-contrast details, plenty of "motorcycle chrome," and a body shape that both looks cool and also serves to make the playing experience better. The "reverse" shape pulls the neck closer-in to your left arm and puts your playing hand in a sweet-spot whether this is in your lap or on a strap. Build quality is very high for Mosrites and this is a good, solidly-built, clever instrument. Their necks are very stable, too -- the ones I've owned over the years have needed very little adjustment season to season.
Tone: It's got the classic Mosrite sound -- midsy and punchy with a clean top end and focused bottom. This is a sound you hear on tons and tons of old surf records but it's also easily-adaptable to country, Americana, and rootsy music as well.
Feel: The neck feels much like a vintage Fender with a slim-C rear profile, curvy 7 1/4" radius fretboard, and narrower 1 5/8" nut width.
Interesting features: The reverse-offset, amoeboid body comes to mind first! It's also got a semihollow build with a classy, bound f-hole, "German" carve to the top shape, and binding on both the top and back edges. The Mosrite whammy is compact, works beautifully, and is ergonomic to boot. The chromed volume and tone knobs are icing on the cake. Black, by the way, is a rather rare color for this model.
Repairs included: It's previously had a good refret job and I just recently gave it a quick setup.

Condition notes: It's quite clean and original throughout except for the frets and the Kluson Deluxe tuners (which are likely reissues as they're chrome instead of nickel). It's been refretted with modern medium wire and the job was well-done. If you're looking for the teeny-tiny original Mosrite wire, avoid this. If you are a normal human who likes real fretwire, this is for you!
