1940s Sears Tower 803-8449 30w 1x12" Modded Tube Amp Combo

This is an old '40s Tower projector speaker amplifier/cabinet that Winfield Holt of Orator Amplification completely went-through and modded/built into what's effectively a Supro Thunderbolt 30w tube amp (push/pull 6V6 pair of power tubes). It definitely has that mids-pushed, '60s, Valco/Supro-thing going on and he's mated it with a reissue Jensen 12" speaker, too. So, while it looks '40s outside, it handles more like a late-'50s or early-'60s, Chicago-made, tube amp...

The Tower brand was apparently a Sears-sold line back in the day (judging from the plates inside the cab) and the stencil work on the grill is pretty dang wonderful and eye-catching.

Both the power cable and your instrument cable have to run through a hole in the side of the amp's back-panel door but the on/off+volume and tone knobs are on the front with easy access.

The cabinet does a little rattle here and there when it's being pushed full-tilt but that's part and parcel with these old projector-speaker cabinets and you don't really hear it when you're "out on the floor" and playing but you will if you lean in close and listen. Winfield's done his best to dampen it as much as possible.
