1958 Goya M-24 (Levin) 000-Size Guitar
Overview: This gorgeous old Goya was made by Levin in Sweden. It's x-braced and 000-sized and has a Martin-style short scale length and so it really does sound an awful lot like an iteration of a Martin-style instrument except for the fact that it's got maple back and sides. That gives it a little of that maple-backed L-00 sound from the '30s to my ears -- both woodier and cleaner, in its way, than mahogany -- and a little punchier, too!
Interesting features: Per the usual for a '50s Levin product, the build quality is excellent. It has a mahogany neck with a slim, fast profile and a bound fretboard. The body has a cool, high-contrast sunburst finish and the back and sides are finished a very-dark brown to match. It's got a "Gibson-looking Martin" vibe about it. The Levin truss cover, big-dot board inlay, and splotchy tortoise celluloid pickguard are attractive as well. The necks on these are double-bolted to the body and the fretboard extension is glued to the top, so resets down the line are pretty easy-peasy.
Repairs included: I gave it a neck reset and Jose leveled/dressed the frets, made a new bone saddle, and set it up. I can't remember if he or I fit the new black buttons on the tuners but one of us did as the originals were starting to fall apart. It's playing spot-on and is ready to roll.

Condition notes: There's finish weather-checking (Gibson-style) throughout the finish and small scratches, scuffs, nicks, and dings here and there but overall it looks excellent for its age. It's very hard to find old Goyas that look anywhere near this nice. Everything on it is original except for the saddle, tuner buttons, and bridge pins.
It comes with: It's got a newer hard case.
