2013 Fender Japan Walnut Jazz Bass Electric Bass Guitar

Overview: I took this cool beastie in trade with another sale. It's a sort-of repro of the '70s "walnut" Fender basses which were finished in a walnut color rather than made of walnut. This one appears to have an... ash? ...body. The finish is gloss and it shipped with a matte black, one-ply pickguard, which this has. The hardware is all that "metallic dark grey/black" thing rather than chrome, too. It's stock aside from new knobs at the control plate and shows plenty of use throughout its finish, but that just makes it more cozy and at-home as a player's instrument. It feels, plays, and handles a lot like the old '60s Jazz Basses we've had through the shop, though the finish is poly rather than nitro, of course.

Repairs included: Max gave this a level/dress of the frets and a setup and it's playing bang-on and ready to serve.

Condition notes: There are nicks, scratches, and dings here and there throughout and I took photos of the worst of them (a bump at the headstock side and a big chip-out at the back edge). The pickguard arrived with corduroy fabric glued to its surface that we removed and so the pickguard, while now with a clean surface, has a distressed look to it from cleaning all that scuzz off. The hardware all has plating wear at the points where it has made contact with body and/or clothes while playing.

It comes with: It has a good, presumably-original, rectangular black hard case.
