1966 Fender Coronado I Lake Placid Blue Hollowbody Electric Guitar
Here's another instrument in for a refret and setup work -- also done by Jose, who did a tip-top job. He also made a repro-style, brand-new saddle/bridge topper as the original bridge top is/was compensated for a wound G and the owner plays plain-G on this guy.
This version of the Coronado is my favorite to play if you don't need a whammy because the single-pickup, archtop-style, wood bridge and the simple trapeze tailpiece setup means that the instrument is much more acoustically "alive" than the ones with the heavier whammy tailpiece and adjustable, metal bridges. This makes them feel more like an old Guild thinline or jazzbox than a rawk guitar, which the whammy and 2-pickup versions espouse. It's more fun to just hang-about and work on stuff unplugged and then you can just jack it in to get loud...
Need we mention the "custom color" Lake Placid Blue (metallic) finish with the matching headstock? Oh my gawsh...!
