2000s Earnest Instruments Veronica Archtop Tenor Guitar

It's pretty hard to argue with these apples! I'm a fan of Earnest Instruments builds -- that being the trade name for Mr. Joel Eckhaus who built under it out of his shop in Maine for many, many years. His specialization was in tenor guitars and ukuleles but he also built mandolins and some plectrum guitars, too. Click here to see a Tenorcaster of his and click here to see a Radioator plectrum.

This is a "Veronica" model and it's built to the highest spec he offered, I'd imagine, as it's fully-carved front and back, features tight-grain spruce for the top, and fancy figured maple all over the rest. It's multi-ply bound throughout, has a super-slick bound pickguard, fretboard full of big block pearl inlay, and a suspended, jazz-style humbucker pickup mounted at the neck.

It sounds tip-top both plugged-in and acoustically and has a fast-playing, quality feel to it. The setup needed to be tweaked a bit and the bridge adjusted in cut just slightly, but other than that it was basically ready to go after living a good while out in the world without any adjustment.

This was just in for repairs and setup and is currently not for sale.
