2001 Yamaha F-35 Jumbo Guitar
This all-ply, jumbo/dreadnought-shaped Yamaha is a more-modern take on the venerable FG-series instruments from the '60s, '70s, and '80s. It's a little brighter and more even-sounding than the old ones (which tend towards the tubby side with a thinner high-end) and has a faster, more-modern neck shape. Otherwise, though, it's pretty comparable in design and intent -- it makes a good take-anywhere, carefree guitar as it's sturdy and functional.
I got this one in trade and after a glorified setup it's ready to go and playing spot-on. I keep these strung a little lighter than normal (52w-11) as their tops, just like the older Yamahas, are braced on the lighter-side compared to the stiffness of the top material.
Repairs included: a little fret-seating, cleaning, and a setup.
