c.1955 Harmony Baritone Ukulele

Harmony baritone ukes don't get much better than this fellow... no cracks, finish is in great shape, only minor knicks and use wear, and it has curl in its mahogany all over the back and here and there on the front. Judging by the label on the headstock, it's also more than likely a 1950s model.

All the classic trim: tortoise binding on the top, rosewood fretboard and bridge, simple inlaid rosette, solid mahogany throughout.

Nice old fashioned label.

Faux-pearl inlaid dots.

Both the nut and saddle are some super-hard bone-like plastic... good stuff. Notice that I end-load these strings with some beads as "ball ends." This gives slightly more break angle over the saddle which = better tone and volume. The usual classical tie-on method actually pulls the string upward as it comes out of the hole going towards the saddle, which means the break angle is slightly less.

Nice looking plank!

Original pegs.
