Clippings: 1926 Lyon & Healy Tenor Ukulele
This 1926 advert is for Lyon & Healy's "new tenor ukulele" (which is a slightly bigger concert model) -- note that L&H (makers of American Conservatory, Washburn, Lakeside, etc.) strung their tenors in a dGBE tuning, rather than the (popular today) gCEA tuning. I've always thought this tenor tuning was much more practical for a varied palette in ukes, seeing as regular sopranos and concerts do a darn good job for gCEA.
