c.1885 Champion Mandolin Video

Ever wanted to hear how a c.1880s Lyon & Healy first-class bowlback mandolin sounds? I've recorded a quick video of some improvisation on mine here:

That sound comes courtesy of a larger-than typical bowl, cherry and birdseye maple back and sides with maple lining, a spruce top, mahogany neck, ebony fretboard, nut, and bridge, and a lot of aged-in tone. Enjoy!
