Sneak Peek Banjo Video

Here's a sneak peek at a banjo I'll be posting about in a little while (after I'm totally finished overhauling it). This is "my new 'jo" -- a c.1880s "Venus" model banjo built by Buckbee (presumably for some other retailer). It's got a 24" scale length, a 10" double-spun pot, and a brand new skin head I mounted just the other day. The sound in the clip's not perfect, and the tune's my own humble bumble, but it gives you an idea of the projection and sweetness of this type of smaller pot. Cherry neck, and bone/ivory inlays!
