c.1960s Japanese Short Scale Electric Bass

Here's my new recording buddy... a short scale p-bass-ish fellow. It's got a solid slap of Japanese oak for its body, nice vintage sunburst finish, a single pickup, volume, tone, and a solid mahogany neck w/truss and bound, side-dotted rosewood fretboard. How's about that? It sounds good, too. Work on it included cleaning, fret dress, and setup. Unfortunately I haven't swapped out the strings so I've still got "vintage sound" in some old lightweight flatwounds...

Gotta love it as a "working bass." The simpler the controls and settings the more I usually enjoy an electric instrument... from limitations creativity arises.

...that's what you like to see on a vintage electric.

Did I mention the mahogany neck & classic tuners?

Man! I finally found one! Took me a while of searching. I have one of these suckers and I love it. I am trying to figure out exactly what company made them. I've seen a couple with the same exact neck online, but this is the first with the same body as mine.

Please let me know if you ever sell or find out any info on this bass. Thanks! Drop me an e-mail at Lubow_Courier at Yahoo dot com.
Hi there -- this bass was definitely a Teisco-made product. The neck finish, style, build, look, pickup, etc. all conform to Teisco products.
