Ephemera: Goofy Band (c.1940)
This pic has it all -- big old bass, mahogany-top Martin 14-fret 0, Kay deco-style full-on resonator banjo mandolin from the 30s, a lap steel, 30s Strad-o-lin mandolin (one of the good, early ones), and a Martin tiple as well. This band must have been fun!
All that aside, stay tuned. I have cool stuff for the blog tomorrow (Monday) including one of those ultra-rare "White Swan" Lange-made banjo ukes, a 1920s Stella (Oscar Schmidt) flatback mandolin with the decal treatment, and an old Rolando banjo uke converted into a reso uke fit for steel strings.
