c.1920 Banjo or Mandolin String Mute

This is a 20s-era string mute (unmarked) for use behind the bridge on a banjo or mandolin to mute extra string length (and thus cut down on overtones). They're most often seen on 20s tenor banjos. It's been sitting in my accessories pile and I simply don't need 2 or 3 of these, so grab it for your own use and clean up your tone!

You can also use these (carefully) by clamping the mute right next to the rear/lightly touching the back of the bridge to work as a "regular mute" and darken/quiet the tone of a banjo.

This attaches by slipping the rotating "bar" into the middle of the strings and under them, then adjusting tension on the top.
