c.1960 Harmony Baritone Ukulele
This is a customer's old baritone uke and it's late 50s or early 60s in vintage. Work included some new guitar-style tuners and setup at the nut and saddle. It's not the loudest Harmony bari I've heard (the earlier, mid 50s ones are thinner-wood and thus louder) but it does have a good, dark, sweet sound. The body and neck are solid mahogany while the bridge and board are Brazilian rosewood.
The late 50s/early 60s baris used synthetic (plastic) nuts and saddles (like on here) whereas the earlier ones used bone. It's kinda nice how well the repro 50s-style tuners fit in with the simple paddle-style headstock. The owner of this is just starting on the uke road so we figured it would be easier to deal with these than the traditional friction pegs.
