Ephemera: Guy Plays the Dola (c.1894)

Could it be that this fellow is playing the elusive bowlback mandola? This eBay grab was inscribed: Guy Wallace Morton, June '94 (1894) and the seller stated it was from Owego, NY. Very cool.
