Ephemera: Where to be? It's Tennessee! (1900s)


Despite an eBay seller's attempts to list this as an 1860s photo the guitar never lies: that tailpiece and build dates this to the very late 1890s at the earliest. It's one of that first generation of tailpiece steel-string guitars made for the mass public.

I should also say: sorry for the rash of Ephemera pics! I've had two lost workshop days while dealing with all sorts of other stuff. I promise some instrument ear and eye candy tomorrow.
