1930s Regal "Sweetheart" Soprano Uke

Just in time for Valentine's, right? This uke is actually going to be shared (as uke #2) between our little daughters Oona and Elsa and was a gift (in dilapidated form) from Bonnie's folks. I haven't had one with this very cool stencil before... but I'm looking forward to fights over the "cool pink uke, it's my best, it's my best, I love it."

It's all-birch, sturdily-built, and as expected it's got a quiet but happy voice. Work included regluing all the seams (practically), a neck reglue, bridge reglue, very light fret work, new (old) tuners, and setup. I know that I'll be picking this up now and then so it doesn't hurt to have it play spot-on!

I forgot to mention that I added "strapping brace" reinforcements above and below the soundhole. As-new, this would have no bracing on the top.

The tuners may be a bit cheesy but there's no way I'm going to let our poor kids struggle with friction pegs as they get older...

I wish the original position marks (decals of green stars?) were still more visible.

Yeah, it's very cute!

A countersunk screw helps hold the dowel-joint neck true after a reglue job.
