Ephemera: Dobro Kid (1930s)

Or, rather, Regal Boy. Those tailpiece-load versions of the familiar Regal "squashed 000" shape are cannons. They sound very close to Selmer-Mac gypsy guitars and sit in the mix in the same fashion. Loud, zappy, and proud!

Dobro was likely filling out their catalog with this non-resonator inclusion. Since Regal made almost all of their bodies and necks, it makes sense to me.
