Workshop: Taylor Bolted Neck Joint

I don't know if I've shown these before, but this is what the 3-bolt Taylor neck joint looks like. A customer brought his 710CE in for a fret level/dress but as soon as I got the strings off I noticed that the fretboard extension had "ski-jumped" and would make everything fret-out if I left that alone. So... I "reset" the neck via shimming the neck back and letting the extension "dip" a hair towards the body.

Their bolted joint makes a reset a $20 job rather than a $150-200 job and allowed me to fix the guitar's issue "while-you-wait."

In the above photo you can see the two bolts that are in the heel and the one under the fretboard extension.
