1920s German-made 1/2 Violin

This is a customer's 1/2-size violin and it was just in for a new set of strings and a setup. I replaced the endpin and tailgut and added a fine tuner for the tailpiece at the same time.

I'm sharing because the quality level of the instrument is so much higher than normal for a fractional violin. It has a great, sweet, and even tone coupled to the looks of flashy flamed maple for the back and sides. Purflings are fine and accurate and the cut isn't sloppy at all.

Curiously-enough, however, the fingerboard is ebonized maple while the pegs and tailpiece are ebony.
