1990s Gibson Custom Shop Chambered Les Paul Electric Guitar

Update 2021: a friend of mine is downsizing so this is available -- I've updated the post with new pics, a video, and an updated description.

A couple of my friends did a big trade-fest in the shop in 2016 and one of the guitars handed back-and-forth was this pretty, lighter-weight, killer-sounding, late-'90s Custom Shop Les Paul. The body is chambered inside -- it looks almost like what you see on a Danelectro with a center-block extending from the neck to the bridge and tail and the rest routed-out.

It's just so snazzy. Tonally it reminds me more of an ES-175 with perhaps a hair more sustain than a "proper" Les Paul. That's all A+ as far as my ears go. I am more than pleased with the tone. Compared to an "average" Les Paul the pickups are a bit brighter and more-focused, but not quite as bright and chipper as late-'60s Gibson buckers -- they're more relaxed but not moody.

The top has a thick layer of quilted maple while the body is figured mahogany. The neck is mahogany and has a '60s-style thinner-to-medium taper to it and a really quick feel. It feels like home to me!

Repairs included: minor fret level/dress and setup.

Condition notes: it's pretty dang clean, though the hardware has aged in its nickel plating. There are minor scratches and scuffs throughout the body but none are really noticeable or obvious. It was gigged but babied. The guitar itself is 100% original except for a newer bone nut.

It comes with: an original hard case that does have plenty of scuffs and scratches on its outside.
